Kimberly perry talks about "Walk me down the Middle"

Last december Kimberly talked about the story behind Walk me Down The Middle:

Kimberly Perry wrote:: "It is a real life story about a boy from our small town who wouldn't take me to the county fair last year," Kimberly tells The Boot. "The original inspiration is that his ex-girlfriend was there and he didn't want to be seen with me, apparently, so the boys escorted me, and we came home and wrote this song. It's this interesting perspective about how to me, one of the most heartbreaking things is when you have to ask somebody to be proud of you. To me, that's just one of the most sad sentiments. So it's this girl saying, 'Look, I know you've had this other relationship, I promise to take care of you, if you'll just be proud of me.' So it talks about walking me down the middle of the fair, down Main Street, and then eventually down the middle of a modest church. It's really a special song, and I tell ya, it gets me a lot of fair proposals after our shows, sometimes from four-year-old little boys! Sometimes from teenagers, just not so much from anybody my age! What's up with that?
